Toujin

Toujin (she/her)
first encountered shibari in 2018 in Basel, at RopuNawa’s studio. She was soon enthralled by the dynamic between rigger, rope and model and the sense of community surrounding it all. Influenced by RopuNawa and inspired by Ropeknight, Toujin has never committed to a single school or style, instead, her tying grew into an ever-changing mosaic of different techniques and intuitions, only guided by what each session and partner calls for. For her rope is a way to draw out emotion, gently stirring what lies beneath the surface. She is fascinated by how little it can take for something profound to move through a person, just a shift of breath or a slight trembling pause. Her focus is not on perfection,but presence and connection. Since 2020, Vienna has been her home and a place where she builds community and continues to explore shibari.
